On March 15th we had our 1916 Commemoration Day.

Thankfully the weather obliged us by being beautiful. We read the Proclamation, followed by the modern proclamations that Mr. Delaney’s and Mr. Dempsey’s classes wrote. The pupils in Mr. Delaney’s class played Amhrán na bhFiann on tin-whistle, to accompany the wider school community as they sang, while the children from Ms. Fagan’s class raised the flag.

The afternoon comprised of céilí dancing, hurling and Gaelic football, celebrations of our heritage.
