Our Heritage in Schools advisor, Kay, visited our classroom recently to talk about biodiversity. We had heard of the word before but were not too sure what it was all about. She explained that biodiversity was about the variety of life on Earth. She told us that plants and animals rely on each other to survive. Kay told us about the relationship between humans and plants when we breathe. Plants give off oxygen and take in carbon dioxide. Humans take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide. She also spoke to us about the work that bees do and why they are so important to the planet.

It was very interesting.  By Erika, Amy and Conor, Room 16
