Dale Treadwell came to visit our school on October 25th. He read us nature stories that he had written himself. One was about a robin, the other was about a hedgehog.

He showed us a baby bat. We saw a video of a bat drinking milk. We also got to see and hear a bat flying. We played a game: bat and moth. The bat wore a blindfold. Every time the bat said “Bat”, the moth had to say “Moth”. The bat had to listen to find the moth. The game was fun.

He showed us insects: an earwig, a millipede, a beetle, a woodlouse. We looked at them through bug viewers.

We saw Dale when he appeared on RTE television talking about a hedgehog on a wildlife programme.
