This Halloween, our school had a Halloween dress-up day so we got to wear something scary. I wore a skeleton costume and a scary mask. Other people wore witch costumes or vampire costumes. There was a competition for the best costume. The winner in our class was Matilda. We were allowed to bring in sweets and popcorn. A garda came in to the school to talk to all the children about safety at Halloween time. He told us a story about a boy who lit a firework while holding it with his hand. It exploded. He explained about how bonfires are dangerous. He said you can get badly hurt if you don’t act responsibly. We had a really good day and even better, we had no homework that night!
