On Sunday, October 19th 2014, at Leisureland, the Peace Proms took place. The Peace Proms is a concert that allows children to be in a choir and perform in front of an audience. There is also an orchestra, a conductor and usually some special guests who sing or play an instrument. In this year’s Peace Proms, the children from Ms. Hill’s class, room fourteen, from Scoil Chaitríona took part. To be able to participate, our class had to learn songs and dance moves that accompanied some of the songs. It took some time to learn them all but it was fun. Another one of the requirements was to wear a white t-shirt and black bottoms. There were many other schools taking part also.

A few weeks before the concert, room fourteen and all the other schools went to Leisureland for the first rehearsal. There we met conductor Gearóid Grant and the orchestra. He took us through what would happen on the day of the performance and we went back to school after. The boys and girls from room fourteen arrived at Leisureland  at 12 O’ Clock and had a rehearsal until 1 O’ Clock. From then on, to twenty to two, we had lunch and then started preparing for the concert. Room fourteen and the rest of the choir sang beautifully and acted very professionally. There was a small intermission at 3 O’ Clock and the concert then resumed. The concert finished at 4 O’ Clock. Everyone enjoyed themselves and were very pleased. Overall room fourteen had a great experience and did very well. We were really grateful for our pizza celebrations in school the next day.
