School Garden 13.docx

On the 13th of October 2014, we visited our school garden. Kay Sinnot and Mr. Riordon told us about the daffodils, onions and garlic. We learned that the daffodil stays in its bulb till spring comes because in winter it is cold so the bulb has no energy to grow, but in spring it is warm enough to grow. We learned that the garlic has more, smaller garlic bulbs in it called cloves. The garlic is like an antiobiotic , it helps you stay strong when  you are going to get sick (fever, cold etc.) It has medicinal qualities. Harvesting means the time of year when ripened crops are gathered in. we also planted winter cabbage. I like the school garden.
