On March 19th, 2015, the children of Ms. Fenton’s and Ms. O’Grady’s classes were treated to a talk by Patricia Forde, a Galway author and former teacher in Scoil Chaitríona Senior.
Patricia spoke to us about her books: Frogs Do Not Like Dragons, Hedgehogs Do Not Like Heights, Witches Do Not Like Bicycles, Queen Maebh’s Raging Return to Galway, The King’s Secret. Patricia told us about where she got her inspiration to write her books, and about the publishing and illustrating of her books. We were amazed to hear how many languages Patricia’s books had been translated in to!
We got an extra special treat: we were one of the first children to hear about and be read an extract from Patricia’s wonderful new book, The Wordsmith.
Patricia shared some memories with us of her time as a teacher in Scoil Chaitríona Senior.
