We were awarded recognition as a ‘Health Promoting School’ in 2018/ 2019. We had lots of fun along the way, and learned much about promoting health within the school community.
Activities we participate in each year include promoting awareness around the importance of eating for health. We encourage all in the school community to continue to pack healthy and interesting lunches and work on goals to increase awareness on mental health and wellbeing amongst our pupils.
An Active School is a school where physical activity is valued, promoted and enjoyed by all. Our aim is to enable us to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community.
Our school’s AS motto is – 60 minutes exercise a day keeps obesity at bay.
The ASF goals in Ireland are:

EMPOWER schools to develop, and strengthen partnerships, with parents, local and national organisations
GENERATE a support network for schools where best practise, innovation and successful initiatives are showcased, affirmed and shared
GUIDE schools to create their own specific roadmap for sustained physical activity practises
