This year’s National Spring Clean was another great success and we’d like to say a HUGE thank you to all the students and staff!

We cleaned up the Renmore pitches, Renmore Avenue, the lane alongside the Hospice and the school grounds.
We filled 7 and a half bags this year but way back in the year 2000 we filled 29 bags! So it looks like our message is spreading and people are dropping less litter! Yipee!

The most unusual item this year was found by room 2 – a chunk of a Celtic pot! We found many other unusual items and here are some: a riveted metal tool with nuts and bolts, a Toyota hubcap, a tile, a Nerf bullet, a gold sprayed branch, a full can of beer, a pair of shoes and a pair of trousers, a block, a skipping rope, a bag of cement, a big chunk of Styrofoam, a potato full of woodlice, socks and a metal drinks bottle! Some very strange items this year!!

Mr O’Brien’s class even found €10 on their clean-up and donated it to the Hospice. A really thoughtful gesture.

We would like to thank the students and staff for helping to clean up Renmore and we hope you enjoyed yourselves too!

Go raibh míle maith agaibh!
